Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actor who was famous for her portrayal as the spirited lawyer Teri Joseph in the Showtime show Soul Food. Contractor, who was born in Mumbai and was a resident of Nigeria for seven years, was awash with adventures and cultural encounters from the age of. She was a boarding student in London between the ages of seven and nine, after which her family relocated to Toronto, Canada, where she lived for the bulk of her childhood and young adulthood. Contractor was a brilliant scholar in Toronto and trained to be the classical ballet dancer. She studied at the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, an arts school focused on dance and theater. At the age of 16 and after more than 10 years of dance Contractor discovered she was looking to pursue acting seriously.
